A nuclear physicist and/or engineer to assist with radiation spectroscopy operations in PNNL’s Radiochemical Processing Laboratory. Analyses include applications such as provenance testing of actinide materials out of regulatory control, Hanford tank waste sample characterization, reactor dosimetry measurements, analyzing complex low- and high-activity samples in support of the International Monitoring System’s Radiation Laboratory, and nuclear forensics. The role will support fundamental nuclear data measurements probing neutron-induced fission yields of actinides, development of algorithms and software for automated analysis of advanced radio-emission spectroscopy systems, and development of detector arrays for improved detection sensitivities. If you have questions please feel free to reach out to Stephanie Lyons (stephanie.lyons@pnnl.gov) or Bruce Pierson (bruce.pierson@pnnl.gov) for more information.
