The nuclear physics group at Louisiana State University is looking to hire a Postdoctoral Researcher or Senior Postdoctoral Researcher in the area of experimental nuclear physics. Our group’s research interests span the areas of nuclear structure, nuclear astrophysics and weak interaction processes. Specifically, this position will focus on projects to experimentally determine reaction rates of astrophysical importance in a variety of stellar processes. A successful candidate will be expected to be involved in all aspects of these studies from developing instrumentation to the planning, execution and analysis of experiments using stable and/or radioactive ion beams. Our experimental program is centered around measurements at Argonne National Laboratory, Florida State University, and the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams with the possibility of successful candidates being in residence at one of these facilities. The position is for two years with the possible addition of a third year.
