TRIUMF Policies Governing GAPS Members

TRIUMF has official policies pertaining to graduate students and postdocs at TRIUMF. Please read them, and as always, if you have any questions, please reach out to GAPS committee (gaps@triumf.ca).

Graduate Student Program

The Graduate Student Program is the policy governing graduate students. This policy outlines minimum funding levels that graduate students at TRIUMF should receive, as well as defining graduate student rights and other important official information. Effective Sep. 1st 2024, the new minimum net funding levels for MSc and PhD students is $27,000 and $32,000 per year, respectively. Please refer to the official documents below as the most accurate source of information, since the funding levels may change.

Postdoc Policy

The Postdoctoral Fellows and Research Associates Program is the policy governing postdocs. It outlines rights for postdocs at TRIUMF and defines minimum funding levels. As of June 2024, a TRIUMF postdoc cannot make less than $65,000/year. Please read the internal policy for more details, as this number is also subject to change.
