Abstract
In this talk I will discuss incorrect statements appearing in textbooks on quantum field theory (QFT); some of these mistakes also appear in the research literature. The focus is not on errors made by an individual author, but on conceptual muddledness that is widespread in introductory textbooks. These range from relativistic quantum mechanics, to classical and quantum field theory proper, including interacting field theories. The goal is to warn of the existence of several pitfalls and thereby (eventually) stop these mistakes from further propagating in the literature on QFT. Time permitting, I may also discuss analogous mistakes in numerical methods or data analysis textbooks
