Abstract
In this talk, I will discuss two aspects of cosmic string physics. First, I will present the gravitational wave spectrum sourced by global cosmic string networks. By modeling both long strings and loops, we derive the resulting signal using the unequal-time correlators of the string stress-energy tensor. Second, I will discuss the stability of superconducting strings at both the classical and quantum levels, and explore their cosmological implications, including possible consequences for the QCD axion.
