Hi GAPSers!

Ready to learn how to defend yourself and have fun doing it?

Join us for an Intro into Self-Defense on Friday, July 18th, from 6 - 7:30pm, at Jericho Beach.

It is based on the German Ju-Jutsu System, an effective modern martial art designed to be accessible for everybody. The session is about real-world self-defense, smart movements and the joy of doing a fun sport together. Your instructor will be Richard Hermann (1. Dan Ju-Jutsu, Trainer C license).

(Alternative if it rains: Acadia Park Commonsblock https://maps.app.goo.gl/4ddZq6FZ6ase2TvB8 )

What to bring: water!, normal sport clothes (which can get dusty/sandy)

What to expect:

  • Close body contact (light grappling - mostly standing)

  • Simple blocks, escapes and self-protection techniques

  • Maybe How to fall and get up safely - NO Judo throws and NO ground fights

Bonus: After the lesson, everybody is invited to hang out at the beach. Bring snacks or a drink if you like.

Come join us for a fun sport class learning useful self-defense techniques. More people make it more fun, so feel free to bring a partner or friend along too!

See you there!
