Hi GAPS-ers,
With 2024 coming to a close, we bring you our last social outing of the year! This will be a fun joint event with ECS-EDI (Early Career and Students for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion).
Have you ever wanted to learn more about Indigenous cultures and practices but don’t know where to start? Join us on Thursday, December 5th to begin your learning journey via ART!
The first artistic medium we’ll explore is a film, with a viewing of the Signal Fire documentary at 5 pm in the TRIUMF auditorium, accompanied by some light Indigenous catering! The movie is about 30 minutes long.
We will then make our way over to the UBC Museum of Anthropology (MOA) to explore and appreciate some physical art. Established in 1949, this museum hosts a wide collection of Indigenous art from both local and international communities. Admission is FREE for any UBC students and employees (TRIUMF GSRAs and Postdocs count we checked!), and for any of you not falling in that category, your admission fees will be covered by GAPS.
Cheers,
Your GAPS
